CWF Mid Atlantic's year started with a bang and a huge packed house for the annual New Years Knockout event. Sheik Lumpkin was out first, returning with one of his "original" assassins, United Nations of Devastation's Hugh B. "Bad News" Johnson, to do battle against a thorn in his side, fan-favorite Alex Adonis. The powerhouse and the big man went at each other tooth and nail and the shifty Sheik could do nothing to help his charge from the floor. Adonis won the match by pinfall and a roar engulfed the entire building.

Singles action was out next as the familiar veteran "Gate City Sinner" Trent Wylde hit the ring to do battle against the young Canadian Assassin in singles action. The veteran seemed to toy with the young masked man from north of the border, taking advantage of every opportunity to make him suffer. The Assasssin barely survived past the five minute mark before the veteran took him to the canvas for a pinfall win.

Rookie Mark Van Hook was out next only to find his singles action opponent to be none other than former Tag champion Tank Lawson. Van Hook attacked before the bell, seemingly unnoticed by Lawson, who turned up the heat early and tied up the rookie and stretched him into a submission in under two and a half minutes. Lawson then took the ring mic to tell the fans how much they mean to himself and everyone in the dressing room for their continuing support.

Sheik Lumpkin entered next with the current Weapons of Mass Destruction tag lineup of Marcellus "Mid Atlantic" King & Michael McAllister for battle against the fan-favorites Kamakazi Kid & Xsiris. Everyone signed took turns trying to get an advantage on their opponents and Sheik Lumpkin was able to insert himself into the match behind the referee's back. Xsiris found himself in the ring for a long stretch against both of the Sheik's Army, but fought on until a tag was finally witnessed by the ring official. Kazi & X took advantage of the situation and set up McAllister for a Kazi bomb from the top ropes which led to the roll up for the pinfall win.

For some strange reason, the new CWF Rising Generation League champion "Jersey" Nick Richards made his way into the ring to address the fans. Shortly after he began rambling about respect Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "the 1st" Ric Converse interrupted him by making his entrance. After a couple of snide comments by the youngster, Converse took offense and the two tangled after a few false starts by Richards. The RGL champion actually took control for a few moments, sending the former world champion on his back and resorting to a choke hold. Converse rebounded and took out the youngster with his favorite finisher, the Ric-Tor Scale for an easy pinfall win.

Commissioner William L. Cross then entered the ring with Converse to make an announcement about the next big CWF Mid Atlantic event on Saturday January 19th in Burlington NC. The VIPs rudely interrupted the proceedings, making their own demands, so the Commissioner regained control by announcing that "Simply" Steve Greene will defend his TV Title against Heavyweight Champion "the 1st" Ric Converse with both men's belts on the line! "King of Heat" Gemini Kid took the mic and started making demands until Cross once again regained control by announcing that former Heavyweight Champion "Infamous Icon" Joey Silvia & Ty Dillinger will return on the 19th and want to face the VIPs with a partner of their choice. Cross announced that the event would be called A Cold Day In Hell and that the VIPs would face Silvia w/Dillinger and the partner of his choosing, to which Gemini announced that "Visiting VIPs" the Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens) would be on hand and face Silvia's team. Cross also announced that the former "Scream Queen of WCW" Daffney will be in action as well. Special "VIP" Tickets are already on sale for $15, guaranteeing front row seats and early entrance for a meet and greet with the CWF Mid Atlantic stars and the visiting Naturals and Daffney.

Following intermission and the presentation of the 2007 IndyInsider.Com Awards, Fatback Enterprises Donnie Dollar$ entered the ring for singles action against Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride. The two big men blistered each other's chests with chops and took the battle to the floor early on, resulting in McBride suplexing Dollar$ to the concrete floor. Both men kicked out of the other's usual finishers in the course of the match which led to McBride ascending the ropes to drop a textbook elbow on his prone opponent to allow a pinfall win.

The CWF Mid Atlantic "High Definition" Televions Title was on the line in the customary ten-minute television time limit bout as champion "Simply" Steve Greene squared off against his former partner Brass Munkey. The two, very familiar with each other's styles, ended up resorting to the basics resulting in a very high-impact battle between the two. Munkey ascended the ropes to finish off the champion, only to be surprised by an attack and suplexed off of the top for a pinfall win to retain the title.

The main event hit the ring with the CWF Mid Atlantic Tag Team champs VIPs "King of Heat" Gemini Kid & Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega) entering to defend the titles against the hottest new tag team to come along recently, the Blaze Runnerz Mikael Yamaha & "Rock N Roll" Matty Dee. The thirty minute time limit title bout began with each of the four competitors getting their shots in and double-teams as allowed by the official during confusion of who was legal. Ortega showed out in this battle, especially by surviving the onslaught of Yamaha nailing him repeatedly with his own favorite finisher, the Fujiwara Armbar. Yamaha may have lost his focus when the fans started chanting for Gemini Kid's mask and he tried to oblige them. Dee found himself in for a very long stretch of the bout, unable to make it to his corner for a tag as the VIPs had their way with him. Yamaha finally got a hot tag after the twenty-five minute mark, hitting the ring fresh and cleaning house. As the Mid Atlantic Tag Titles began to look very much within reach, Dee attacked his partner and left the ring area, leaving Yamaha alone unable to defend himself in the ring. The VIPs made quick work of him, rolling him up for the pinfall win in just under twenty-eight minutes. Regardless of the Commissioner at ringside and the official still in the ring, Gemini & Ortega continued to beat up Yamaha as the fans were stunned by the defection of "Rock N Roll" Matty Dee.

Following the event heading for the parking lot exit, Dee informed IndyInsiders.Com that he was now to be referred to only as The Man Who Ruined Mikael Yamaha's Life.
