CWF Rising Generation League Champion "One Man Boy Band" Roo D. Lewis began the evening thanking the fans for their support in helping him achieve a dream come true at Battlecade X by winning his first CWF championship. He was interrupted by the Sindicate, resentful of Lewis due to their own shortcomings as Battlecade. Lewis seemed to have been "punked out" by the former tag-team champions and left the scene but re-emerged moments later with "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel in tow, and a referee was called to the ring to officiate an impromptu tag-team bout. Lewis took a real cue from Edsel's leadership as both men took it to the Sindicate's Evan Banks and Michael McAllister, picking up the win following a combo of the "baby kickin' Nazi" boot from Edsel and the "Carlton Banks" neckbreaker from Lewis.
Match number two saw another hard-hitting affair between Cecil Scott and Alex Adonis with Crystal Clear. Scott avoided the heavy strikes Adonis is known for throwing as best he could and even at one point tried to introduce a chair into the match but it was to no avail as Adonis ended the bout with a thunderous chokeslam off the top rope to gain the three count.
Ultra J Champion Xsiris got into a heated confrontation with rookie standout Chase Dakota after Dakota requested a shot at the championship on a future card. Xsiris launched into a tirade berating Dakota and calling him the bottom of the barrel of the Rising Generation League. To everyone's surprise X was interrupted by none other than "Krazy K" Kirby Mack, who was not part of the scheduled card, having only rode along to the event with brother TJ Mack. Those two former rivals then engaged in a bitter war of words which culminated with a match being made for February 6th at the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium where Xsiris will put his Ultra J Championship on the line against the World Light Heavyweight Championship of Kirby Mack, title versus title! Mack has also vowed that should he win, the very first title shot granted will go to Chase Dakota.
Kirby's brother "The Encore" TJ Mack had a great outing against the lunatic Otto Schwanz, extending Schwanz almost to the ten minute time limit but it was not to be as the powerful Schwanz was able to put Mack down at the nine minute mark.
Aftermath's Jaxon Dane and Canadian Mercenary # 3 (substituting for Marcellus King, who had a family emergency) took center stage next against Fatback Enterprises' "Young Gun" Nick Richards and "Number Two" Matthew de Nero. The younger Fatback team really shined at the beginning but once the intense strongman from the Aftermath took over it was all she wrote, pinning a pummeled Richards following the Jaxhammer.
Chase Dakota looked to move up the Pro Wrestling International rankings and hopefully secure a future Ultra J title shot by taking on rising star Trevor Lee. This was a fast-paced, exciting match-up that saw both men innovate new maneuvers trying to secure a pinfall. After seven and a half minutes of non-stop action, it was Dakota who got the pinfall after turning Lee inside out with a devastating fisherman suplex variation.
Indy Insiders Randy "Randolph" Hedrick, Grant "Statmark" Sawyer and Brad "Fatback" Stutts presented the 10th annual IndyInsiders.com Awards at intermission, following by the lovely and talented Amber Gertner and Chasity Taylor who presented the first annual CWF SuperFan Awards. Read all about the results of both awards voting by visiting the 09 Awards link on indyinsiders.com.
CWF Mid Atlantic Television Champion Lee Valiant asked for the house mic and entered the ring following intermission. In a heart-felt outpouring of emotion, he then explained that he's been suffering the effects from a concussion since his all-out war on January 2nd against Joey Silvia. Valiant went on to say that his condition was worsened at the Traditional Carolina Wrestling event following the initial injury at CWF Battlecade X. In a heart-breaking moment, Valiant explained to the crowd that the concussion would force him out of action indefinitely and surrendered the Mid-Atlantic Television Title, walking away with his head down, leaving the brilliant trophy lying in the center of the ring.
Up next was fomer five-time Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "The 1st" Ric Converse squaring off against former one-time Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Brass Munkey with the added stipulation that the winner would be guaranteed next month's shot at the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship, currently scheduled for February 20th. The Aftermath's "1st" stole a big one from Brass Munkey with the help of his manager and his collapsible steel baton. Munkey left the arena with help from the ring officials complaining of a very sore injured arm, which was visibly reddened and swollen as he finally was able to leave the arena.
Destiny charged the ring for eight man tag-team action with Joey Silvia, Steve Greene, Ty Dillinger and Ray Kandrack squaring off against Arik Royal, Charlie Brown from Outta Town, Roy "Rage" Wilkins and newcomer Troy Brolin. After 25 minutes of heated back and forth action, a miscue saw Wilkins get drilled by a stampeding football tackle from Royal. Destiny was able to take advantage of the rookie's misfire as Steve Greene dove on top of Roy to get the three count.
The evening's main event saw the very first title defense of brand-new Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Kamakazi Kid, taking on former friend and rival Xsiris. The braggadocious Xsiris claimed that he would be a double champion by bout's end but it was not to be, as after eighteen minutes of high impact wrestling, Kazi ducked a swing of the very same collapsible steel baton Converse had successfully used earlier and Kazi planted X into the canvas with a vicious dragon suplex to gain the three count.
Now the stage is set for "TITLE TURMOIL" on Saturday February 6th back at the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium. A new Television Champion will be crowned, Xsiris vs. Kirby Mack with both the Ultra J Title and World Light Heavyweight Titles on the line, Fatback Enterprises defends the Mid-Atlantic Tag-Team Titles against Aftermath's Jaxon Dane and Marcellus King, plus Ric Converse and Kamakazi Kid will both be in the very same building just two weeks out from what should be an explosive Heavyweight Title match on February 20th. Be there for "TITLE TURMOIL" and stay tuned to cwf274.com and twitter.com/cwfmidatlantic for late breaking news between now and then!
