CWF Mid-Atlantic returned to Burlington's Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium on Saturday February 6th with Title Turmoil with a wild night of action that saw two championships change hands.
In the opening contest, newcomers Aiden Chambers and Dustin Tarr locked up with Chambers looking impressive in victory. Rising Generation League star Chase Dakota was out next against well-travelled Brodderick McQueen. Dakota picked up a big win here to continue advancing in PWI rankings and word has come down from the offices of Pro Wrestling International that with several key wins now under his belt, Dakota has been granted a shot at the Ultra J Crown Title at "End of an Era II" on February 20th!
Arik Royal and Roy "Rage" Wilkins survived a 16 man battle royal, last eliminating Gemini Kid, to earn the right to come back later on in the card and compete in the Decision Match for the vacant Mid-Atlantic Television Championship.
Destiny's Joey Silvia & Ty Dillinger defeated Dexter Poindexter and Aiden Chambers in a fast-paced tag-team war. After the bout, Charlie Brown from Outta Town took center stage as Dillinger signed for a "special delivery" of a birthday surprise from Gemini Kid. Charlie revealed that the document Dillinger actually signed was for a special grudge match for "End of an Era II" against Charlie Brown with the added stipulations that if Charlie wins, Rob McBride will be reinstated and Ty Dillinger will be forced to leave CWF!
Then the high-flying Ultra J stars took center stage as Xsiris successfully defended the Ultra J Crown against the World Light Heavyweight Championship of Kirby Mack, unifying the titles and strengthening the position of the Ultra J Crown as one of the most prestigious championships on the independent circuit today. Xsiris will advance now to defend against rising star Chase Dakota when we return to the Sportatorium on February 20th for "End of an Era II" but perhaps the biggest news came after the match, when a bizarre disturbance got the attention of Xsiris and manager William Cross. The lights in the Sportatorium when out and when they came back on, a lone spotlight shined on the ring gear of Mikael Yamaha, who has been absent from CWF rings since he was violently chained to a steel chair and mauled by Xsiris at Battlecade X.
The gorgeous Amber O'Neal stood victorious in ladies action over the dysfunctional team of Persephone and Kristin Flake. CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Kamakazi Kid entered the ring to say a few words to the fans, complaining about how every time a champion gets a house mic, he's either declaring himself to be a "fighting champion" or polishing his own story for posterity. After complaining about how challengers always tend to interrupt a champion's mic time, five-time former champion "the 1st" Ric Converse rushed the ring with manager William L. Cross. Converse demanded a shot at "his" title, totally ignoring the comments of the current champion. Converse blind-sided Kazi, dropping him to the canvas and tying him up in a steel chair. Lifting Kazi, chair and all, Converse left him in a crumpled heap after dropping him in his Ric-Tor Scale finisher. Then it was time for the Television Championship Decision Match, pitting Wilkins against Royal in a friendly, competitive bout. Things turned sour with the presence of Gemini Kid, who attempted to persuade Royal to use the championship belt as a weapon against his friend. It appears that distraction was merely a red herring though, as Gemini swerved everybody by sliding Wilkins a pair of brass knuckles that he used to KO Royal and earn his first major singles championship. The Sportatorium stood in stunned silence as the notorious "King of Heat" nodded his approval of the new champion.
In the evening's chaotic main event, Fatback Enterprises' championship tandem of Corey Edsel & Donnie Dollar$ successfully defended the gold against Aftermath's Marcellus King & Jaxon Dane. After the bout, the Sindicate's Michael McAllister hit the ring along with Alex Adonis and an unknown giant of a man. They co-conspirators isolated Edsel and a five on one beatdown left the ring litered with the bodies of the Mid-Atlantic Tag-Team Champions, Fatback's Jersey Nick Richards and manager Brad Stutts as they stomped out of the arena.
