Following a sombre memorial to the legendary Johnny Weaver, eight-man tag team action entered the ring with "Gate City Sinner" Trent Wylde, "Jersey" Nick Richards, "Italian Assassin" Gregory Vercetti & "Perfect Smile" Jerry Wayne standing across the ring from the team of Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride, Tank Lawson, Alex Adonis & El Mariachi. An entertaining and fast-paced ruckus ensued, with all eight competitors getting their shots in on their opponents. The team of fan-favorites, led by McBride put the match in the record books with four simultaneous Weaver-Locks applied for a very convincing win.
Newcomer Glutius Maximus entered the arena, climbed into the ring and demanded the house mic. After several moments of disparaging remarks about where he was at, Brass Munkey hit the ring to interrupt his monologue. The much larger newcomer attempted to throw his weight around early, but after years of battling the likes of much larger opponents, Munkey used his athletic ability to keep the big man off of his feet and on the canvas. The gladiator-clad Maximus showed his own abilities but eventually was forced to tap out to Munkey, who continues to perfect new and dangerous means to inflict pain to his opponents.
Ladies action was up next with the return of Da Blonde Mafia's Amber O'Neal & Brandi Richardson to battle Persephone & Kristin Flake in tag team action. Renewing hostilities from a few weeks ago, the ladies hit the ring with a fury with O'Neal trying to rip apart newcomer Kristin Flake, and then tagged in Richardson, who showed her exactly what she thought of the young competitor. The chalice brought to the ring by Richardson was introduced into the ring and Flake took a convincing swing at O'Neal, catching her squarely between the eyes. Persephone finally made the tag with her young partner and backdropped Richardson and bridged for a three-count and a win.
CWF Mid Atlantic Television Champion "Simply" Steve Greene returned to action, putting the title on the line against sharp young Scott Kull, who has shown flashes of brilliance in his past CWF matches. Greene didn't take the young high-flyer lightly and kept the battle on the canvas for most of the match. Kull got a great opportunity to win a major championship after slamming Greene to the canvas. Climbing to the top ropes, Kull went airborne with a beautifully executed splash which only met with canvas. Greene took quick advantage and retained the title by pinfall over the stunned and winded young competitor.
After making it plain that there was still a great dislike between them, Brad "Fatback" Stutts and Destiny's Ty Dillinger were forced by Commissioner William L. Cross to settle it in the ring. "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel & Donnie Dollar$ stepped into the ring and proceded to do battle with Destiny's "Infamous Icon" Joey Silvia & "Leelicious" Lee Valiant. With a yeoman's effort, Silvia took the battle in his hands attempting to headlock big Edsel and take the two-time former heavyweight champion to task. After several promising minutes, Edsel returned the favor in spades and tagged in the eternally-angry Dollar$ for his opportunity to bounce the smaller competitor around the ring. Silvia survived the barrage to make the tag to Valiant, who was able to make his presence known quickly, taking it straight to the face of Dollar$, enabling his team to get a big win.
CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyweight Champion "the 1st" Ric Converse was up next for non-title singles action against the Sheik's "Militant M.A.K." Marcellus King, who was led to the ring by "General" Michael McAllister. Converse battled the prospective challenger toe-to-toe, but was unable to keep momentum going his way with King diving out of the ring every few minutes. After the ten-minute time call, Converse turned up the heat to try to end the bout and McAllister soon climbed onto the ring apron, catching the eye of Converse. When he rushed to the ropes, Converse was knocked silly by McAllister, who brandished a steel chain behind the back of the ring official. King escaped with a very important non-title victory, which should move him up the ladder quickly for a title shot.
CWF Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champions VIPs' "King of Heat" Gemini Kid & Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega hit the ring for main event tag title action with partner "Simply" Steve Greene in tow. Challengers Xsiris & Kamakazi Kid hit the ring to a roar from the fans at the Carolina Sports Arena. An epic battle ensued, more than twenty minutes of wrestling moves, counter moves and even a run-in by Greene, which were all quashed by the challengers. After grouping on the floor, the VIPs shouted "count us out" and headed for the exit. Destiny entered at that time, sending Gemini & Ortega rushing back into the ring. Xsiris grabbed Gemini and dropped him on the back of his head, and he immediately rolled out of the ring and took the ten-count, losing the bout yet retaining the tag team titles.
