A forecast for thunderstorms was for the most part not correct, but the rain did begin shortly after 7 pm, forcing a slightly later starting bell than the 7:30 as planned for CWF Mid Atlantic's Civitans SuperBrawl 2 at Greensboro NC's Sumner Civitans Ballfield. When the cover was removed for the ring singles action kicked off the annual event, with a sidebar from Brad "Fatback" Stutts & Donnie Dollar$, who came to the ring to discuss business with "Handsome" Mitch Connor. Connor dismissed his estranged teammates and turned his attention to dismantling young Rising Generation League Champion "Jersey" Nick Richards on the canvas. After a thorough domination by the former TV and Tag Champion, Connor left the ring with a pinfall victory in under five minutes.

General McAllister & "Militant M.A.K." Marcellus King were out next for tag team action against young Mark Van Hook and newcomer The Masked American. The General's Army began to dominate early, using multiple double-team moves to try to end the bout in the early stages. However, the explosive Masked American was a force to be dealt with with his high-flying attacks and impressive dropkick. The newcomer had the match in his team's grasp as his partner Van Hook climbed the turnbuckles for the final attack, only to be shoved off from behind by King on the ground. McAllister then rolled up the dazed youngster to secure his team a pinfall win.

Mixed tag action was up next with the #1 Contender for the CWF Mid Atlantic Television Title Tank Lawson & Kristin Flake entering to do battle with current TV Champ "Simply" Steve Greene & Amber O'Neal. As the bell rang, it signalled the skies above to open up with the first real downpour of the evening and action in the ring was in a deluge. Lawson attempted several times to pin Greene but the spunky O'Neal continued to save her partner over and over before Kristin Flake could neutralize her save attempts and help secure the pinfall victory. A soggy and short celebration followed as the ring crew hustled to return the cover to the ring. Weather radar indicated that the evening's weather would be out of the area in about 10 minutes, and by time intermission had ended the clouds had parted enough for an almost full moon to witness the second half of the evening's event.

VIP Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega was out next, heartily booed and harrassed by the fans at ringside, even through the introduction of the talented Roy "Rage" Wilkins for singles action. Ortega controlled much of the hard-hitting battle and eventually drug Wilkins to the soggy ballfield surface for more punishment. Ortega slung the youngster through two rows of steel chairs and onto the edge of the bleachers, sending fans scurrying for cover. Wilkins emerged from the chairs and mud with a badly bleeding hand but climbed back into the ring and let his "rage" take over against the man that inflicted the damage. His emotion was not enough, however, as one of the finest pure wrestlers in the Mid Atlantic area, Ortega, let his abilities shine in a hard-won pinfall victory before the angry crowd.

Six-man action hit the ring as Fatback Enterprises "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel, Donnie Dollar$ & Matthew de Nero w/Brad Stutts hit the ring to do battle with what the manager termed as a "hand-picked team of fan-favorite stars." Mid Atlantic Tag Champion Kamakazi Kid entered with partners "Box Office Draw" Mikael Yamaha & Destiny's Lee Valiant for what was to become a battle of brawn, wits and bravery. The teams finally went to their corners and the bell signalled the beginning of a brawl. All six competitors went at it in pairs before Yamaha & Valiant resorted to the "high-low" attack to get big "Dangerous E" Corey Edsel off of his feet for the first time in the bout. Kamakazi Kid hit the ring as the former 2-time Mid Atlantic Champ got to his feet, only to be turned inside out with a violent and explosive clothesline. De Nero eventually returned as legal man and he continued to tear apart Valiant, who found himself out of position to make a tag. When the resilient Valiant finally made his way to his corner, de Nero found himself between a rock and a hard place as Yamaha superkicked him in the chin as Valiant soared with a flying elbow from the top rope.

The most anticipated bout in recent months hit the ring under the cover of gray and cold as the new #1 Contender Rob "Boogie Woogie Man" McBride entered to face friend "the 1st" Ric Converse for the CWF Mid Atlantic Heavyeight Title. The partisan crowd supported McBride vocally from the introductions all the way through with the Converse contingent making their presence known in spurts. The wet conditions should have very much limited what could be done in the squared circle under normal circumstances and the first ten minutes of the bout followed that rule of thumb, a lot of mat wrestling, holds and counters. After the fifteen minute mark, Converse took the battle to the soggy ballfield, hiptossing McBride into the mud at ringside. As both competitors try to make it back into the ring, the VIPs "King of Heat" Gemini Kid & Jesse "El Fuego" Ortega attacked McBride with brass knuckles, leaving him motionless on the canvas. Converse hit the ring nailing the VIPs from behind, sending them scurrying to the ground and away from the ring area. Converse then turned, covered the unconscious Boogie Woogie Man and retained his title by pinfall. McBride remained in the ring for five minutes or longer and was asking "what happened Ric?" as he was helped from the ring area to the dressing room.
